HE DID NOT HESITATE TO TAKE AWAY THE BULLOCKS WHICH HE FANCIED DESPITE OF THE PROTESTS OF THE OWNER. HE FOUND NOTHING WRONG IN CUTTING WOODS FROM ONES PLACE AND CONSTRUCTING AT SOMEONE ELSE’S PLACE. HE MADE LIFE MISERABLE FOR ALL THOSE LIVING IN ‘CHINCHOLA’. HE LEFT NO STONE UNTURNED WHILE TORTURING ALL. THE VILLAGERS KEPT QUIET, FEARING HIS MONEY, HIS RELATIONS WITH THE POLITICAL LEADERS AND HIS FATHER’S GOOD DEED.BUT THEN THERE WAS A LIMIT TO THE TOLERANCE LEVEL OF THE VILLAGER. HOW FAR WOULD HE GO ON LIVING WITH SO MANY CURSING HIM? HOW WOULD HE GUARD HIS ESTATE? HOW WOULD THE HEREDITY CONTINUE…?
एकनाथबाबानं गाव लेकरागत जपला. त्याच्यासारखा माणूस पुन्हा होणार नाही, म्हणून गाव रडलं. त्या सूर्यापोटी हा शनी जन्मला... सुंद्रा माळिणीसारख्या कैक जणांचे तळतळाट त्याच्या माथी होते आणि तरीही तो तेच करीत होता. त्याचं लक्षण खोटं होतं. चिंचाळ्यातली बरी दिसणारी एक बाई सोडली नाही. कुणाच्या जमिनी व्याजात बळकावल्या . कुणाच्या मोटेची चालती बैलं सोडून आणून आपल्या गोठ्यात बांधली. कुणाच्या मळ्यातली झाडं तोडून तिसऱ्याच्या जागेत अरेरावीनं स्वत:चे इमले उठविले! चिंचाळ्याची उभी रयत त्यानं गांजली. गरीब गाव नाडलं, पिडलं. बापाची पुण्याई, ढीगभर पैका, सरकारदरबारी वजन ह्यामुळं मनातून जळणारं गाव अजून गप्प होतं. पण असं ते किती दिवस गप्प राहणार? इतक्या जणांचे तळतळाट माथ्यावर असताना तो किती दिवस जगणार! धनदौलत, परंपरा कशी जपणार? इनामदाराच्या घराण्याचा वंशवेल कसा वाढणार?
